Why does the cushioning of hydraulic cylinders fail and what can be done about it?

Oct 19, 2023

Hydraulic buffer relies on hydraulic damping to act on the object on which the buffer decelerates to a stop, play a certain degree of protection. Apply to lifting and transport, lifts, metallurgy, port machinery, railway vehicles and other mechanical equipment, its role is to prevent hard collision during the work process resulting in damage to the mechanism of the safety buffer device.

When the cushion regulator valve is in the fully open state, it will make the inertia energy larger, so that the performance of the system is affected. Buffer regulating valve can not be adjusted, when the check valve is in the fully open state, may be the pressure regulating valve check valve seat seal is not tight; or there is air in the pipeline, so that the flow rate is reduced. Damage to the seals on the piston, when the buffer chamber pressure rises, the working fluid flows from the buffer chamber from high to low direction, because the fluid in the buffer chamber flows to the working pressure side, resulting in the piston can not slow down. Scratches on the inner surface of the piston head or bushing. The shock-absorbing ring set in the cylinder head falls off. The taper of the cushion plunger is not properly tapered.

Put the spanner in the right position and tighten the bolt. Make a reasonable choice for the design of the buffer mechanism. By replacing the parts, the machine can be restored to normal working condition again, thus enhancing the service life of the machine. Check the specifications, replace the conical valve core or ball, refit the spring, and then repair it with a repair machine. Replace the seals. Repair or replace the cushion ring with a new one if one is not installed.
