The extraction of water is very important in human production and life, so ancient people invented many water lifting tools. For example, in the 17th century BC, the ancient Egyptians invented the chain pump, the Qin and Han dynasties in China invented the water wheel, and the ancient Greek philosopher and scientist Archimedes invented the screw pump. With the development of technology, water pumps that can be applied in the industrial field have begun to emerge. In 1675, Sir Samuel Moran, the royal machinist of King Charles II of England, obtained a patent for a plunger pump. The water pump he designed and manufactured was used by numerous factories in England at that time.
In modern sense, a hydraulic pump is the power component of a hydraulic system, which is driven by an engine or an electric motor, sucks hydraulic oil from the hydraulic tank, pressurizes the oil, and delivers it to the actuator. Its basic working principle is to change the volume of the pump chamber through motion, thereby compressing the fluid and giving it pressure energy. As a core component in the hydraulic system, hydraulic pumps are often combined with various components and auxiliary components such as oil tanks, temperature control components, filters, and accumulators to form a hydraulic pump station.
There are various types of hydraulic pumps, which can be divided into plunger pumps, vane pumps, gear pumps, screw pumps, etc. according to their structural forms; According to whether the flow rate is adjustable, it can be divided into variable displacement pumps and quantitative pumps. Some types of hydraulic pumps can also receive high-pressure oil from external inputs and convert hydraulic energy into mechanical energy, exerting the functions of hydraulic motors.
Hydraulic pump plays a huge role in many fields such as mining and metallurgy, power, national defense, agriculture, petrochemical industry, shipbuilding, etc. With the strong development of various countries around the world, many well-known brands have emerged, such as Bosch Rexroth in Germany, Danfoss in Denmark, Kawasaki Heavy Industries in Japan, and Parker Hannifin in the United States. At the same time, the research on pumps has further improved the working pressure and energy conversion rate of hydraulic pumps, and has also led to the rapid expansion of the application field of hydraulic pumps.
The technological strength of China's hydraulic industry continues to strengthen. From 2009 to 2019, the output value of hydraulic pump products in China increased from 5.918 billion yuan to 13.205 billion yuan, with an annual compound growth rate of 8.36%. The production capacity of domestic hydraulic pumps has also achieved significant development, with the overall performance of hydraulic pumps continuously improving and the proportion of domestic core component products continuously increasing
