How Does A Hydraulic Gear Pump Work

Jun 17, 2024

The Hydraulic Gear Pump is mainly composed of two meshing gears, namely the driving gear and the driven gear, which are installed in the pump housing.
When the Hydraulic Gear Pump is working, the driving gear is rotated by the external power, which drives the driven gear to rotate accordingly. With the rotation of the gear, the teeth of the gear are from meshing to disengaging. In this process, the teeth on one side of the oil suction chamber gradually withdraw from meshing, which increases the volume of the oil suction chamber and forms a local vacuum. The oil in the oil tank enters the oil suction chamber through the suction pipe under the action of atmospheric pressure. On one side of the oil pressure chamber, the gear teeth gradually enter the mesh, so that the volume of the oil pressure chamber is reduced, and the oil is extruded out and discharged through the pressure tubing. The gear constantly rotates, and the process of oil absorption and oil pressure is constantly completed, so as to realize the transmission and power transmission of hydraulic oil.
In short, the Hydraulic Gear Pump converts mechanical energy into hydraulic energy through the meshing and rotation of the gear, and provides continuous and stable pressure oil for the hydraulic system.
